When and How to Get a Google Review?
When clients are settling for services rendered (booking their next appointments), and sharing how exceptional their service was, it’s the perfect time to ask them for a Google review. For customer convenience, have your Google review link on a QR code plaque, and cards for them to take.
It’s also good business practice to follow up (via email, or phone call) with your customers within 4-7 days after service. This gives customers time to reflect, notice, and enjoy how things are going. It is acceptable to send an email or an SMS stating, “Thanks for coming to XYZ! We know you have many choices and we appreciate that you chose us to take care of you. If you are totally satisfied with our service it would mean a lot to us if you would write a few words about your {service, treatment, staff, product}, on a Google review {make sure you include a link for your business to make it easy}. Please contact us directly if you have any concerns or feel like something isn’t up to standards so we can make it right.
Unfortunately, there is no consensus as to the right day and time to send your emails. Some research shows that sending messages between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Mondays are best for open rates. The key is to pick a day, stick with it and follow up to see if you need to make an adjustment.
Keep in mind that It’s important that customers are utilizing your website. You might consider offering online booking so clients can book when it’s convenient for them, no phone call necessary.
